Tim Brown begins his second season as assistant coach at George Washington University in 2011. Brown spent the 2009 season as a volunteer assistant coach in his first year with the Colonials staff.

Before coming to Foggy Bottom, Brown was an assistant coach at Mount St. Mary's, a member of the Northeastern Conference. His primary duties at Mount St. Mary's were to work with the pitchers. Three players he coached sign contracts with professional baseball teams, including two with MLB clubs. These include Ivor Hodgson, who was the 2007 17th round selection of the Kansas City Royals and Dustin Pease, who signed with the Winnipeg Goldeneyes of the Northern League.

Prior to working at Mount St. Mary's, Brown was the coach of the McLean Raiders of the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League. He also was an assistant coach at Coppin State University and Siena College. While at Siena, he coached John Lannan, who was selected in the 11th round of the 2005 Amateur Draft by the Washington Nationals. Since entering the big leagues, Lannan has evolved into a reliable top of the rotation starting pitcher for the Nationals.

Brown has playing experience from Southeastern Community College and Lindenwood University of the NAIA.
